I feel like a character in a zombie movie that just got told, "There's no help coming."

Years worth of hope dashed upon the floor in 3 seconds. Literally 3 seconds.

fucking HELL.

About a month and a half ago I started getting random whiffs of "HOLY FUCK IT SMELLS LIKE SHIT, LITERALLY" in my apartment after I shower. It kept happening, and this is just the cherry on top of the SHIT SUNDAE that are the plumbing problems my apartment has.

Since I moved in two years ago:

the shower does not drain properly. You will end up standing in 4-5 inches of water for showering just 3 min or more.

The trap in the shower has to be cleaned out, bleached, and have boiling water flushed through WEEKLY to even function. wtf. normal drains don't do that.

I've had plumbers come in TWICE, snake the drains and find "no problems," yet it still can't drain properly.

And now I've got what DEF. smells like sewer gas coming up like clockwork 5 mins after every shower I take.

I'm tired of standing in my own filth when I shower, and now having to smell SHIT GAS for 30 mins after I take one! I feel like a fucking rat! It's not that I don't clean the drains either because I've crazy meticulous about cleaning because I hate the smell!

We've had some dudes working on some kind of water system in the apartment last friday and this morning so I HOPE whatever they're doing will fix this, but ugggggh. Every since early July there's the shit smell. Just KILL ME NOW.

I would move, but I'm tied to this fucking shitty sub-sanitary apartment with my AEON contract. If this doesn't get better in week I'm probably going to file a major complaint with my company to try and get the paperwork moving to get me OUT of this place and hopefully not have to pay rent when I'm not living here. I'm really at my wits end because it's not really AEON's fault this place sucks, it's the building management company that maintains this place and seemingly doesn't maintain it for shit.

kdhggjfghjghgd I don't know what to do.

Mississippi Personhood Amendment

Reposting, because this is major fucked up. CELL CLUSTERS ARE NOT FUCKING PEOPLE. Yes, I'm a radical hardliner on this one.

Okay, so I don't usually do this, but this is an issue near and dear to me and this is getting very little no attention in the mainstream media.

Mississippi is voting on November 8th on whether to pass Amendment 26, the "Personhood Amendment". This amendment would grant fertilized eggs and fetuses personhood status.

Putting aside the contentious issue of abortion, this would effectively outlaw birth control and criminalize women who have miscarriages. This is not a good thing.

Jackson Women's Health Organization is the only place women can get abortions in the entire state, and they are trying to launch a grassroots movement against this amendment. This doesn't just apply to Mississippi, though, as Personhood USA, the group that introduced this amendment, is trying to introduce identical amendments in all 50 states.

What's more, in Mississippi, this amendment is expected to pass. It even has Mississippi Democrats, including the Attorney General, Jim Hood, backing it.

The reason I'm posting this here is because I made a meager donation to the Jackson Women's Health Organization this morning, and I received a personal email back hours later - on a Sunday - thanking me and noting that I'm one of the first "outside" people to contribute.

So if you sometimes pass on political action because you figure that enough other people will do something to make a difference, make an exception on this one. My RSS reader is near silent on this amendment. I only found out about it through a feminist blog. The mainstream media is not reporting on it.

If there is ever a time to donate or send a letter in protest, this would be it.

What to do?

- Read up on it. Wake Up, Mississippi is the home of the grassroots effort to fight this amendment. Daily Kos also has a thorough story on it.

- If you can afford it, you can donate at the site's link.

- You can contact the Democratic National Committee to see why more of our representatives aren't speaking out against this.

- Like this Facebook page to help spread awareness.
